My desire to improve my health, quality of life then prompted me to learn more about yoga.In October of 2017 after postponing the idea for 7 years, I enrolled in Yoga Teacher Training (200 hour program) at Yogaspace in Toronto. I kept having this recurring thought that “I was a fraud” & “shouldn’t be a yoga teacher”, but I managed to listen to my inner voice and conquer the fear to complete the training and begin teaching yoga classes. The Yoga program definitely had a big impact on my life. It shed the light on breath, alignments, the physical and metaphysical, raised my awareness and connected more with my inner self. I discovered my love and passion for teaching which could possibly be linked to having Professors as Parents. I enjoy sharing my knowledge, leading my students through a class to feel better and rejuvenated.
In October 2018 to further my knowledge and skills, I enrolled in Pilates Mat Teacher Training at MuseMovement in Toronto. Being a movement teacher means I have to keep up my own practice, challenge myself, try new exercises to get inspired and learn. So in summer 2019 I took Barre to learn how to teach it and mix it in between my pilates and yoga sequences. My own practice has changed and continue to evolve from hard core vinyasa fast flows to testing and exploring Hatha and restorative flows. I am following my instinct with venturing more into meditation, breath work, emotions and the vagus nerve. I believe we have to keep on learning, educating and challenging our brains constantly. There is so much I want to do and learn. |
